An Explanation of Steam Boiler
Steam boiler is basically a closed vessel, in which water is heated up until it is converted into steam at requisite pressure. It uses heat to convert water into steam, for a range of applications. Useful to heat homes or businesses, the steam can be used to power steam engines or other allied purposes. The steam is a key resource because of its beneficial properties, nontoxic nature and availability.
A steam boiler comprises two main parts: the furnace to provide heat and the boiler in which the heat converts water into steam. The quantity of steam that can be created per hour depends upon the combustion rate of the fuel in the furnace, and upon the heat transfer efficiency to the boiler. The steam boiler should be engineered to absorb the maximum amount of heat released in the combustion process. The heat is transmitted to the boiler by conduction, radiation and convection.
